Software / Controls Engineer – EDC OIL & GAS
Currently we are looking for candidates to work on the position of:
Software / Controls Engineer
Workplace: Warsaw
Reference Number: O&G/SCE/EDCW
Responsibilities:
- conceptual design of software components and systems used for subsea production control
- implementation of Control strategies in PLC’s and SCADA systems
- implementation of scripting tools used for improvement of SCADA or PLC development process
- analysis and/or design of software tools to support embedded Subsea Control Units
- interpretation of contractual & requirements information
- creation of Software Design and Test Specifications for specific software components
- creation of software to standards as defined within the Software Quality Management System
- conduct qualification testing of new products and/or fault diagnosis of returned products in the Engineering laboratory
- ensure that the best practice is followed to achieve maximum levels of safety, quality and efficiency
Qualifications:
- degree qualified (or equivalent) in automatic control, computer science or software engineering
- experience of developing SCADA based control systems running on PCs under Windows Operating systems
- knowledge and experience of PLC based controls and IEC 61311-3 compliant programming languages
- working knowledge of typical communication interfaces (Ethernet, RS485, RS232)
- knowledge of standard communication protocols used in Industrial Automation (Modbus, Profibus DP, CAN, OPC)
Desired qualifications:
- proven Software Engineering background in following PLC / SCADA systems
- wonderware Factorysuite products (InTouch, InControl)
- GE Intelligent Platforms products (Cimplicity, iFIX, Versamax PLCs)
- Rockwell ControlLogix (Ladder, SFC, FBD)
- knowledge of programming languages including C and C++
- experience with usage and configuration of Virtual Machines (preferably VMWare products)
- working knowledge of the Offshore Oil and Gas industry would be considered an asset
