Job description:

Materials Engineer will be supporting Engineering Teams and Projects in a field of materials, metallurgy, non-destructive examinations (NDE), coatings, welding.

General Duties:

-          Reviewing of Materials, NDE, Coating and Welding documentation against national and customer codes and requirements (i.e. ASME, API, ISO)

-          Advising on materials selection

-          Creation/review of material/manufacturing/coating/welding specifications

-          Customer/supplier interfacing on materials issues

-          Undertake material reviews including design and environmental reviews

-          Support welding activities

-          Disposition of supplier non-conformances

-          Reviewing supplier coating and NDE procedures against client requirements

-          Maintaining clear communication with Materials Engineering Teams with regard to workload and technical issues

-          Investigating new technologies for product enhancement

-          Interpretation customer specifications for major projects to produce design specifications

-          Identifying improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

-          Academic or practical background in materials science/metallurgy/welding

-          BSc or MSc in material science/metallurgy or related subjects

-          Familiarity with technical drawings and specifications

-          Good verbal and written English is a must

-          Capability of multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules

-          Good communication/cooperation skills

-          Computer literate
