Field Project Engineer

Workplace: Warsaw
Reference Number: FPE/OG/EDCW

Requirements:

  • At least MSc in Engineering.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in engineering.
  • Readiness and ability for travelling.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English and optionally French
  • Able to work effectively with GE and WIA employees and management
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and preventive approach to problem solving
  • Balanced attitude to different personalities and social styles

Range of duties:

  • Support the business in identification and provision of appropriate resources in order to start the new work.
  • Ability to achieve business objectives under resource / cost constraints
  • Collect and generate productivity ideas and drive to introduce them. Facilitate usage of Six Sigma tools in engineering works
  • Cooperate with other teams relative to supporting increases work-scope and project integrity
  • Oversee the assigned activities and ensure that the quality goals set by management are met
  • Measure yield, hours spent on projects, fund consumption and customer’s satisfaction. Work with functional and program managers from headquarter to capture their requirements and expectations and regularly exceed commitments through personal effort and team leadership
  • Drive the usage of design practices and instructions. Master the peer review process. Execute defect prevention and leveraging of analysis best practices within the team
  • Plan the Travel and Living, Training and IT budgets
  • Technical reference point for site managers to promptly resolve unexpected technical issues to minimize impacts on site activity plan.
  • Lead & Authorize engineering modifications required in field, SR or request of changes (Customer, sub-contractor, internal), due to design inconsistencies
  • Be the liaison with HQ engineering departments and assure technical data collection from site,
  • Represent ENG in technical discussions/meetings at Site or HQ
  • Responsible for all technical communication with Project Management & Client as well as alignment between the site crew and ENG (both Turbomachinery and CoE Commissioning).
  • Responsible for engineering Lesson Learnt collection/sharing among different project site /machine to prevent problem reoccurrence
  • Responsible for installation FMEA: transfer from OTR, creation and clearance of all points prior start up
  • Finalization of below documentation & closure:
  • Field FMEA
  • Technical Pre Installation Meeting MoM
  • FPE should support the Installation and Commissioning team in having the RFR done on all followed sites to minimize the impact on Start Up date and COD
  • Responsible for DE activation on As Built process
